Keys To Being Successful Persistence

Keys To Being Successful - Persistence
By Nilesh Gore

One of the keys to being successful in anything you do is persistence. Persistence & patience are two wheels. Whenever there is persistence; patience must be co-existed, else you will be like a bike in garage. Lets clarify the word persistence :- It is ability to be persist on instances.

Once you have realized & determined exactly what it is you want to achieve, you must take Significant & considerate action using good plan on a consistent, persistent basis in direction to succeed. Think of it like building a muscle. If you have never exercised before, the first time you go to a gym, chances are you will not be able to bench press 100 lbs. However, if you are persistent, and you consistently go back to the gym, you will find yourself getting stronger and closer to your goal / objective with each and every visit.

One of the things you'll observe on your way towards your goal, are speed-breakers. That is, you will encounter obstacles that seem to jump out of nowhere in an attempt to slow down your progress. Count on these obstacles. They are a part of life. Everyone would have every success they ever wanted if there were no obstacles. Your job is to be persistent and work through those obstacles. If you find little or no obstacles along the way, chances are you are not really challenging yourself coz person realizes his potential when he is on climax . And when you do reach your goal, you won't experience the feeling of 'sweet success'. Make your goal a specialized & challenging one!

If you take the time to study any successful person, you will learn that the vast majority of them have had more 'failures' than they have had 'successes'. This is because successful people are persistent; the more they stumble and fall, the more they get right back up and get going again. On the other hand, people that don't get back up and try again, never reach success. For example (1 & 2), 1 Colonel Sanders spent two years driving across the United States looking for restaurants to buy his chicken recipe. He was turned down near about thousand times! How successful is Fried Chicken today? 2 India got freedom because of the persistence & patience of great revolutionaries on their objective to make India free. Having said this, keep in mind that you must constantly reevaluate your circumstances and the approach you are using to reach your goal. There is no sense in being persistent at something that you are doing incorrectly! Sometimes you have to modify your approach along the way. Every time you do something you learn from it, and therefore find a better way to do it.

Success Through Expertise Bring In The Experts Or Become An Expert Yourself

Success Through Expertise - Bring In The Experts Or Become An Expert Yourself
By John Watson

This morning, on TV, I was amazed to see how a house could be transformed by experts. They were allowed to use only 500 (or $1100 dollars) and they had to complete the work in two days.

The owner wanted to sell his house but had had no offers so far although about 8 people had visited the house.

The reasons were fairly obvious. The house was large with great potential and the gardens were beautiful. However, inside the house, the carpets were shabby and needed removing or steam cleaning. The colours were drab; you would probably need counselling after living in the house for too long. The windows were dirty and obscured by net curtains which looked liked discarded bloomers.

The experts juggled the furniture around the sitting room until they found the best arrangement. They compared it to solving a jigsaw puzzle. Keep moving the chairs and sofa around until the pieces fit. They made the conservatory look 'unbelievable' according to the owner.

They used colour combinations which were similar to the most attractive colour combinations of food. Strawberries and cream, for example, not only taste good; they look good.

They used simple things like candles, tapestries and blocks of paint to create a magical effect in the rooms.

The owner was stunned but delighted by the changes and he learned fast. He had to show the first prospective buyer (who arrived after the changes) round the house. He pointed out the benefits of the changes like a professional. The buyer was impressed.

It was obvious that, with a little training, the house owner could himself become an expert at making over houses for sale. It has been said that if you train for an hour a day for six months in anything you can become an expert.

Of course, this would not apply to those who wish to be heart surgeons or astronauts but it would apply to many areas of expertise.

I was recently delighted by the work of a copy writing expert who lives in Italy. I asked him to write the sales page for my recent book. He started by suggesting a much improved title for the book.

I had called the book 'Awesome Acronyms About Achieving Your Aims'. He thought this was boring and changed the title to '36 Laws To Ignite Your Inner Power And Realize Your Dreams Now! I think he was right!

He brought some stories into the sales copy and used powerful and exciting words which showed off the best points of the book. He made me impressed with the book I had written and he was also able to say things about me which I would have been too modest to say about myself.

His changes were often small but made a big difference to the copy.

Where I wrote: Lose Weight But Avoid Losing Money, he used a more positive phrase like : Lose Weight But Keep Your Money!

He empowered readers by using imaginative metaphors or pictures. For example, where I wrote Three Words That Can Achieve All Your Goals,he wrote 'Three Words To Help You Take Flight And Achieve All Your Goals.

His version is much more imaginative. You can visualise yourself flying through the air like an eagle rather than plodding along like a donkey.

His expertise transformed the sales copy but it also made me realise that I could do the same myself if I really worked at it. I have since joined Trevor 'Toe-Cracker' Crook's copywriting website and plan on becoming an expert myself. Trevor, incidentally lives in Australia.

Copywriting is something you can do from any location in the world. So is golf.

You can improve your golf swing greatly by having just one session with a golf pro. They can teach you all sorts of ways to improve your swing. You can attach a light to your golf club, for example, and use the beam to make sure you swing the club along the correct arc.

You can improve your putting by hitting a wooden tee placed upside down. The size of a hole on the green is about 30 times the size the top of a wooden tee. The experts will provide you with all kinds of tips but if you learn these tips yourself, you could become an expert as well.

I encourage all my martial arts students to aim to become instructors. They will continue to learn themselves by teaching others. I spend most of my own time teaching others the things I need or want to learn myself.

So then, bring in the experts or become an expert yourself or do both. Some kind of success is likely to follow. Sometimes the success will astonish you.

About the author

Success in your Pocket

Success in your Pocket
By Santhanam Nagarajan

M R Kopmeyer, in his book, How you can get richer, quicker suggests us to write down our ideas in 3 x 5 cards and carry them in our pocket. Ideas in 3 x 5 cards are for re-reading and study.Frank Bettger in his book, How I raised Myself From Failure to Success in Selling reveals his pocket reminder technique: I made up a 3 x 5 card, a pocket reminder, for each one of my subjects, with a brief summary of the principles. The first week, I carried the card Enthusiasm in my pocket. At odd moments during the day, I read these principles.

Edison had a sign on his laboratory wall which read- There is a better way to do it Find it

All successful people used to have pocket reminders and motivational slogans. We can write down success techniques in small cards and carry them wherever we go.

The catch words should be as brief as possible. I have prepared a list of pocket reminders in just three / two words. The list is given below:

3 Steps to Daily Success: Using Motivational and Inspirational Quotes to Achieve Your Goals

3 Steps to Daily Success: Using Motivational and Inspirational Quotes to Achieve Your Goals
By Ray Schiel

Changing our day-to-day behaviors may be easier than previously imagined. By meditating on and repeating motivational and inspirational quotes, we are better prepared to change our thought patterns, behaviors and in turn, change our lives.

Here's how it's done.

If we believe something to be easy, we find little, if any struggle in accomplishing it. However, if we imagine something to be difficult to accomplish, then our struggle becomes more apparent. In fact, if we imagine that it is difficult to change a specific behavior, then we will always find experiences that will justify that belief.

Take this for example. We wake up one morning and decide that:

This is the day I start losing weight. When things get difficult, I will not reach for junk food, but instead I will focus on something else to keep my mind occupied. It'll be tough at first, but I'm going to give it a try.

If you continue with this thought pattern and belief, don't be surprised to find yourself struggling more often than not. Why?

If we look at this example closely we find a couple of thought patterns and beliefs already in place. We have determined to do something good for ourselves, but we do ourselves a disservice by choosing certain negative thought patterns, beliefs and words that go along with it.

We have said,

When things get difficult....

(This is already assuming that there will be difficult moments! Strike one!)

It'll be tough at first...

(This is already assuming it will be difficult at first! Strike two!)

...but I'm going to give it a try.

(Remember the movie The Karate Kid...Theirs is no ry, there is only do. Strike three!)

Now there are hundreds of products out there that will assist people in losing weight. Some, if not all of them, may work for various people at various stages of their goal. But for many people who have convinced themselves that losing weight is difficult, some products may fall short when our thought patterns are stronger than our desire to change.

Here is something that I've done to change a behavior I no longer desired.

I recently lost 20lbs in about 12 weeks. I didn't like the way I looked, felt or even thought for that matter. I needed to change and take some action towards it.

First, I realized that I had to change my way of thinking about losing weight. My old thought patterns were no longer working for me. My thoughts were like little tiny pictures that I projected in my mind of how heavy I was. I no longer wanted these pictures or thought patterns a part of my life. I had to choose a thought pattern and belief that would be easier to think about.

I chose this thought,

Losing weight is easier than I thought.

Perhaps not the most ideal for everyone but it worked for me.

Secondly, I chose a word I wanted to focus on for that day, week or month to help me in accomplishing my goal (Start with just a day, or just an hour for that matter. Keep it simple.) The word I chose needed to be in relation to the change I want to make. For example, I chose the word FOCUS, as I felt that that's what I needed to think about most of time; focusing more on losing weight than gaining it. Choose any word as long as it relates to your situation. (Attitude, Energy, Action, Believe...)

Following that, I scoured the Internet for motivational and inspirational quotes that resonated within me that related to that specific word I chose. Quotes that I could remember, especially ones that really spoke to what I wanted to accomplish.

But here's the most important part.

I needed quotes that were powerful enough to change my thought patterns the moment I read them. Quotes that REALLY spoke to me when I my eyes fell upon them. Quotes that forced me to pause and think for a moment. Quotes that had that extra edge where my mind said, Yes. This is one. These are all signs of a quote that held power for me.

I focused in on the following quotes.

All that we are is the result of what we have thought. Buddha

The only way to discover the limits of the possible, is to go beyond them into them impossible. Arthur C. Clarke

It's not what you achieve in the end that matters, it's who you become in the process. Author Unknown

In fact, I found dozens of quotes that I resorted to from time to time, but these three I always came back to. They spoke of who I was, what I wanted to accomplish and who I wanted to become as I worked towards my goal.

I wrote them down. I carried these quotes with me constantly. I read them and meditated on them whenever I had the opportunity to. At work, home or at the gym (yup, I finally got myself to exercise, primarily by focusing on Arthur C. Clarke's quote!), I focused on these three powerful quotes to help me FOCUS on what I wanted.

Because I changed my thought patterns, over time, I can honestly say I am 20 lbs lighter and a whole lot happier. Yes, more was involved than just thinking but it all began with my thoughts. The thoughts then permeated into my actions. (Now I need to FOCUS on maintaining that weight, so for me a whole new thought pattern begins.)

Here are the three steps again:

1. Decided to change your way of thinking about a behavior, making it easier for you to think about it. Phrase it in a simple way.

2. Choose a word to focus on to change that behavior for a period of time.

3. Find a minimum of three motivational or inspirational quotes related to that specific word that are powerful enough to change your current thought patterns the moment you read them. Meditate on them and repeat them, silently or out loud, every chance you get.

Be patient. Stick with it. Give it some time.

Why do you think companies offer a 30-day money back guarantee? They know that if you do something for 30 days it becomes a habit and you no longer need to return it! (Learned something, huh?) Give it time.

The first step to what you want to accomplish is changing your mind and the thought patterns and beliefs associated with your behavior. Thoughts are the precursor to action, meaning that thoughts occur before any action takes place. That's what needs to be changed first. Your thoughts. It worked for me and I hope this inspires and motivates you to achieve your goal.

Think positive.

Set Yourself Up For Success

Set Yourself Up For Success
By Leslie Fieger

I receive several emails every week asking me about how to become successful. It is tempting to just refer people to my books and articles. I have, after all, written thousands of pages specifically about success and how to go about getting it. I usually, however, provide a personalized answer to those who do write.

Each answer I provide, no matter how individual it may seem, is based on a very simple formula. It is this: circumstances /opportunity + individual beingness and doingness = results.

Most people, when dissatisfied with their results, run around trying to find or change the first part of the equation; i.e. the circumstances or opportunity they are presented with. This may sometimes result in changed results. But, it is the hit and miss way to achieve the results they desire. They may or may not find or create the perfect circumstances/opportunities. There are a lot of variables in the world.

There is, however, one aspect of that formula that it is possible to have control over and to change to effect different results. That is the second part of the equation: individual beingness and doingness.

Each of us humans can choose how to be in this world and what to do in each moment. It is the individual choices we each make in each and every moment about how to be and what to do that determine our results.

Many are in denial about this. Yet it is as plain as can be. If you and I have the same opportunity and you create success with this opportunity and I do not, then the only variable that can possibly be deficient and needs to be changed is me. Opportunity + me = results. If 100 people are given the same opportunity and only 1 succeeds; most people would jump to the conclusion that the opportunity is not good enough. But, I say that if even one person can create success, then the real variable that needs to be changed is the beingness of the 99 people who are failing.

Most people want to change the world rather than themselves, even if it is just their little corner of the world. But, they stubbornly refuse to change themselves. There is one major thing they overlook. They jump from one opportunity to the next, hoping to find success, never realizing that they must change who or how they are being; or else the next opportunity will seem just as deficient as the current one.

In order to change your world, you must change. As Gandhi said, you must be the change you wish to see in the world. If you want more out of life, you must first become more. Beingness plus doingness = havingness.

It is inescapable. You are the one who determines the degree of success you will have in life. No one else and no thing else is responsible. Do not depend upon or blame others. Some may support your success and some may detract from it; but it is you alone that determines whether or not you attain the success you define and desire.

If others are throwing stones at you, use them to shore up your foundations. I am always amazed at how many people allow the criticisms of others or the negative actions of others or the resistance of others to delay or even belay their success.

If you want (I mean really, really want) success in life, you will have to learn to set yourself up for success. Yes, there are specific techniques, tools and information that is necessary for success; but, for the most part, success is determined by a person's prevailing attitude about one's self and one's right to certain things in life.

You must adopt a high level of self-esteem. You must know in your heart that you deserve success...that it is your right. You must come to expect that, despite any apparent negative circumstances or outright negative feedback from others, you will prevail and the ideals that you have set for yourself are yours simply because you claim them and that they will show up no matter what happens along the way.

How do you get to know that you truly deserve the success your imagine and aspire to? Get to know the real you. Your real essence is divine. You are at one with the all that is all. Therefore you deserve all that you can imagine you do. The universe is all set up to support you. It, in fact, conspires with you to supply all that you ask for.

You just have to be careful about how and what you are asking. Your beliefs, thoughts and emotions are creative. They produce results. What exactly are you thinking? Why? To what end do you hold those repetitive predominant thoughts? To what intent do you hold those beliefs? Does your beliefs support your ideals? Why do you choose to feel the way you feel about yourself and your world?

You can choose your beliefs. You can choose your thoughts. You can choose your emotions. You can choose your overall attitude to life. Those choices determine how you are being. How you are being determines your results. Want different results? Be different than you are being now. Pretty simple stuff really.

As a man thinketh in his heart, so is he.

Think and grow rich.

With our thoughts, we make our world.

Be --> Do --> Have.

So, if you ever decide to write me about how to achieve success, you can know in advance that I will tell you, in one way or another, that you must begin to work on you before bothering to work on or at anything else. To merit and achieve success, you must first set yourself up for success. Become more in order to have more.

What is the Success Lesson in this Story?

What is the Success Lesson in this Story?
By Mike Litman

One of my clients gave me permission to tell you his story.

Jim called me 9 months ago and asked for help.

For the last 5 years Jim desperately wanted to leave his 9 to 5 job, but couldn't because the finances weren't there to support his wife and 2 kids. (6 and 9 years old)

In February 2001, Jim started reading personal development books and listening to CD's.

He got excited, like many of us.

He told me that at the age of 44 he finally lit his entrepreneurial spirit. He really wanted to grow both personally and financially.

Jim got excited, started working on a bunch of 'ideas'.

At first he worked on one thing, then 2 weeks later it was something else and 3 weeks later, a new thing.

That pattern kept going. Jim told me that in his zest to 'start a new life', a new lifestyle, more time with his wife and kids, he somehow was doing something wrong.

Personally, I used to make the same mistake he was making.

Unfortunately, I speak to hundreds of people each week in a similar situation to Jim.

One day we were on the phone and Jim got a bit emotional saying, Mike, I need to do something because my dreams and my family are important to me, but I'm completely scattered. I'm all over the place.

I could really relate to him because that was me for 6 years earlier in my life.

I asked Jim if he was really serious about finally regaining control of his life. He said yes.

I could feel in his voice that he really meant it.

You see, so many people like Jim want more, but haven't reached it yet and here's a big reason why.

They're scattered and their habits are poor.

I challenged Jim and showed him how getting focused and learning how to concentrate, would bring him great rewards.

One of the real secrets to success is focus and concentration.

And that's what Jim started to do.

It's now less then 10 months later and Jim is home with his kids all day. He's spending quality time with his wife. Even waking up after 10am some days.

Because he started concentrating his energy, one of his 'ideas' has now grown so big, he's left his 9 to 5 job.

The question might be asked, What did I tell Jim to help him become financially fr.ee and be able to quit his job?

I revealed to him the same things Theron Dumont revealed to me in his rare 1918 classic on the power of concentration.

Those secrets changed my life and now Jim's life also.

You can get the same life changing system that I showed Jim and get the classic book for free.

Jim didn't want to go through life being scattered and inconsistent and neither did I.

You really can discover how to quickly and easily become a person that can succeed in a big, big way.

Theron Dumont says:

Merely wishing for something will not bring it. Wishing you had something shows a weakness and not a belief that you will really get it. So never merely wish, as we are not living in a fairy age. You use up just as much brain force in vain imaginings as you do when you think of something worth while.

Jim changed his life and so can you.

How to Score Success

How to Score Success
By Chance Massaro

Imagine a sports event without a scoreboard. Makes you chuckle, doesnt it? Sure the game is fun, but without the scoreboard you cant know the progress or the winner!

Margarets Story

Margaret, the director of a social service agency, was desperate. Absenteeism was high, grievances were mounting, errors were rampant, and no one was talking about improvement. I asked her to name the one thing she would most like to change, and she said, Morale. If we had higher morale, employees would be more willing to work on the other problems. When I asked how she would measure morale, she said, Smiles. My suggestion was that we place a big scoreboard on the wall. We asked all the employees to keep track of the number of smiles they saw and give their totals to the receptionist at the end of the day. The results were charted on the scoreboard.

The first three days were awful: about one-half smile per employee. Then Margaret came to work in a garish wig and acted perfectly normally. No one mentioned the wig, but smiles were up 100 percent. Then, the receptionist wore way-too-much lipstick that was way-too-red. Employees made jokes about her sobriety and her personal relationships. Result: smiles were up another 200 percent. On the sixth day, four employees wore cowboy hats and used cowboy language all day long. People began to conspire to see how they could reach five hundred smiles in one day. It took only three more days. The place was full of weird hats, baby pictures, Internet jokes, and funny accents. After two weeks, the employees formed a High Morale Action Team (The Clowns). This team designed activities to keep people smiling. They instituted dress-down days and dress-up days, one-color days, and more. A year later, absenteeism was near zero, grievances were nonexistent, and errors were down by 83 percent.

Victory Card: Measuring Success Every Day

Victory Card: Measuring Success Every Day
By Joan Clout-Kruse

Changing my world has always been a challenge for me. Extreme shyness as a kid limited the number of close friends I had. Expressing myself in a classroom or auditorium was #1 on my fear-scale. The things I excelled in at that time were activities I could do by myself such as getting good grades, writing, drawing and roller skating.

Over the years I discovered being an Introvert had its handicaps. For example, I never asked for a raise. My way to get a salary increase was to quit my job and get a better paying oneafter all I could write a killer resume. Yet, the time came when I saw people get a promotion that I knew I was just as qualified to do, except I never spoke up. I figured they would see my good works and promote me. That is not how it happens. You have to speak up, share your ideas, offer solutions to problems, save the company money and let others know what you did. I accomplished these tasks without saying a word.

One day I said, Enough is enough. I had to change. I had to get out of my comfort zone and learn how to express myself without shaking like a leaf. I began attending success-oriented seminars, reading books on the subject, joining organizations and doing my best to reach out to people I would meet although it was hard for me to take the first step.

I found a way to measure my success as I worked on a goal. I wrote on a 3x5 card the following seven statements and carried the card around with me. The card looked like this:

- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

  • HURRAY! I did it!
  • Wow! Im doing it.
  • Go! Keep on going.
  • YES, I can.

* * * * * * * * *

  • AH. Maybe Ill give it a try.
  • UGH. Im stuck.
  • NO! Absolutely not.
- - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - - -

You notice that I cant do it words begin at the bottom. If the bottom three statements were on my mind I knew there was no way I could work on my goal at this time. I would do something else rather than be miserable the whole day. I would give it a try the next day with a better attitude. It was a great feeling to be in one of the top four statements. I knew I had to keep on going while I had that terrific feeling. But be careful, just because you say, Yes, I can, doesnt mean it will happen. You have to get out of your comfort zone to MAKE IT HAPPEN.

The card gave me an awareness of how I was feeling on any given day. I would try harder to reach the next level. It might take months to get to the top depending upon how challenging my goal was.

How about you? Why not create your own 3x5 Victory Card that you can carry around with you? Measure your success every day and you will know when success is just around the corner.

What Makes People Successful?

What Makes People Successful?
By Ruth Barringham

What do successful people do that others dont?

What motivates them to keep going?

Can anyone be successful?

What makes them different from others?

Attitude

Successful people are confident, honest and driven.

These are attitudes, not skills.

Our attitude can improve our skills so we need to change our attitudes and become more focused and driven.

Our minds find it impossible to store all the information it receives in a day and so it deletes the unnecessary detail. So you need to change your attitude to your business or your life. You need to set goals, concentrate on knowing what you want to achieve and work towards achieving your goals.

But your goals need to be SMART goals:

Specific know exactly what you want

Measurable be able to follow the progress

Achievable be within your capabilities

Realistic be possible to do

Time you must make the time to do it

You need to know exactly what your goals are, be able to set a plan and follow it, be achievable for you (e.g. dont attempt to be a brain surgeon if you cant stand the sight of blood), be possible to do (e.g. dont try and think you can fly) and you must be prepared to put in the time to achieve your goals, or have the time to do it.

Seeing Things As They Are

Some days start off great and just get better while others start off bad and get worse.

Why is this?

It all depends on your attitude and what youre focusing on. If youre in a bad mood then everything will seem bad because youre focusing on it.

Its just the same with your goals. If you focus on missing them, then you will.

You see, our brain never hears the word wont or dont. Thats why children always do what you tell them not to. They never hear the word dont.

So if you focus on not missing your goal by thinking I wont fail, then you will. Instead, tell yourself, I will succeed.

Forget Failure

Children learn faster than adults because they have no fear of ridicule or failure.

Children always look on the bright side:

Kids are curious - Adults are cynical

Kids love puddles - Adults hate rain

Babies learn to walk by setting a goal and working towards it. When they fall down they adopt a different strategy, such as holding onto the furniture, and then they keep going and learning. We should take a leaf out of a babys book, so to speak.

Never say I cant do this. Just take notice of whats not working and change strategies. This will move you closer to your goal.

What else stops you from achieving our goals?

Beliefs

Your beliefs can hinder you or help you, but they can only help you if you understand that they are only beliefs.

Events dont shape your life. Its your interpretation of these events that shapes your life.

Your beliefs and certainties have the power to expand or destroy your true potential.

Beliefs are limiting, so its important to understand that they are only beliefs and not reality.

The past does not equal the future. Just because you havent achieved something in the past doesnt mean you cant achieve it in the future.

You need to question your beliefs and where they come from.

Remember, you can change but not if you believe you cant.

Focus on what your limiting beliefs have stopped you from achieving. Change whatever is limiting you.

If you believe youll win, then you will.

Remember that you dont have to be 100% successful in everything you do to be successful. Every step you take to achieve your goal is a success. And if something goes wrong, just chalk it up to experience we learn from our experiences.

Things You Can Do Right Now

Always ask yourself:

What did I do well today?

What did I learn today?

What am I going to do differently tomorrow?

Never avoid failure.

Stride for success.

Keep trying different strategies.

We slump when depressed and sit tall when we feel successful. Adopting these postures can affect our attitude and state of mind.

How you feel on the inside can affect how you look on the outside and this can influence people around you. What you focus your mind on affects your body language. Therefore you can change your state of mind by changing your posture. So when you feel depressed, adopt the upright posture of a successful person.

People and circumstances can also affect your state of mind, but this can be controlled. Instead of giving up letting external factors control your state of mind, adopt a positive attitude, stand tall and refuse to be influenced by negative things around you.

This is easier said than done because our responses are learned and our unconscious mind cannot always distinguish what is and isnt real.

For instance; if you raise your hand to your mouth and imagine youre sucking a lemon, youll wince. The lemon may be imaginary, but your mind has a conditioned response which makes you wince.

Therefore, never forget:

If you think you cant achieve something, then you won't.

If you think you can achieve something, then nothing will stand in your way.

What Not To Do The Ways to Drive Success Away From Yourself

What Not To Do - The Ways to Drive Success Away From Yourself
By Everte Farnell

Now on to the tip of the day. Last night watched The Apprentice season finale. I have a few shows each week that I like. As a rule I hate 'reality shows' but I do like The Apprentice.

Well it was down to only two people, Randall and Rebbecca. After hiring Randall, Donald Trump asked Randall a amazing question. Donald asked if Randall thought that he should hire Rebbecca also. What an unexpected question!

They wanted to work on different projects, so it would not have cost Randal a thing. He could have opened the door for a friend (at least a friendly acquaintance). He had won. No one could deny him that. He really had a chance to help someone with no ill effect to him, and secure a life long ally in Rebbecca. (For those of you who do not watch the show, Rebbecca proved to be very loyal even when it almost got her kicked off the show.)

So with all of this sitting in his lap and the chance to really do a good turn, and secure a life long business ally, Randal let vanity get the best of him. He said, there should only be one apprentice.

Loyalty is obtained through giving loyalty. Wealth through giving wealth. By showing a bit of loyalty and helping someone achieve a dream, Randal could have shown Mr. Trump that he was someone to be trusted. He would not turn on his friends/business acquaintances. He could have shown traits that would suggest to Mr. Trump that he is not only brilliant and well educated (and he is) but that he understands that he is not the focus of the business.

Remember that, you are not the focus to the other person, they are. You have to give the rings, which means you need to be generous in your dealings with others. Help others when you can, especially if it doesn't cost you anything.

Someone told me one time that if someone needs something and it means nothing to you, then you should give it to them. I agree.

If you can help someone advance, or bring them with you as you advance, then do it. Assuming, of course, they deserve the position.

So remember, give the rings, as the Barbarian chieftains of old would do. You can't help everyone, and you have to help yourself first, but after that don't be stingy with your time, influence or money. It will all come back several times.

With that I will say:

Get the Barbarian Mind Set and keep it. Stay tr to yourself and your family, the rest will take care of itself.

Business Strategies Tactics and Success

Business Strategies, Tactics and Success
By Tim Altvater

Let me tell you about the exact moment I went from struggling, near failure, to SUCCESS! I learned /realized I did NOT have a strategy. So, I then learned HOW to create one, it doubled my business in 1 year - and it will do AT LEAST that for you! If there is one thing you can do that will explode your business more than anything else, it's this: Create a plan! With a proper plan in place, your business can reach new heights at an incredible rate... AND you will be able to keep the momentum going. So what needs to be in your plan to be the most effective? Simple. You need to incorporate various strategies and tactics that will drive you towards your end goal. Before I go on, I want to define exactly what I mean by 'strategies' and 'tactics.' Strategies are the ideas on what you can do to dramatically improve your business.

Tactics explain exactly what you are going to do step by step to implement your strategies. A great plan has both. And when lined up correctly, there's no way you will miss your goal. Now, in this email, I'm just going to give you some BASICS as to how YOU can do this. To come up with your strategies, first... Decide EXACTLY what you want! Now you have strategic objective...

Next, take a piece of paper and write down the 10 things you KNOW would have to happen for you to achieve that Goal/Objective. Guess what! You now have your: Strategic Objective. Your Strategy (the 10 things you need to do) Your TACTICS are the Actual ACTION Items you take to achieve one of the 10 things on your list. NOW - Just do an ACTION at least 1 per day that leads to you being able to physically cross one of the 10 things on your list off, and now, you're working far more efficiently than at least 90% of the so-called entrepreneurs out there! Your no longer are reacting to each day and hoping something happens. You are being PRO active and MAKING things happen! Congratulations!

The TOP 5 Things That Keep You From Success

The TOP 5 Things That Keep You From Success
By Emmanuel Segui

Everyone wants to be rich. A lot of people want to be successful. Yet, only a few people are willing to pay the price. There is a price to success as there is a price to failure. Here are 5 reasons that keep people from accomplishing their dreams.

A lack of motivation. Success comes from loving what you do. Is your current job your passion? When your study highly successful people, you understand that they have at least 1 thing in common: they love what they do and they do what they love. Is this the case for you? If the answer is no, you can start by identifying your passion. This is the best way to get motivated.

A lack of faith. Faith is a firm belief in yourself, God or others that you can do it. Build up a strong vision of what you want to accomplish. In developing a vision, the law of attraction is going to work for you. You are going to attract people, opportunities and money that will allow you to develop an unstoppable confidence.

The fear of failure. The fear of failure doesn't exist. Neither does the fear of success. Fear stands for False Evidence Appearing Real. Micheal Jordan said himself that Fear is an illusion. It is hard to overcome fears. One simple way to overcome the fear of failure is to read inspirational stories and quotes of people that achieved their dreams. Read one every morning. That will give you strength and hope.

The wrong strategies. When you want to build a business, to achieve something really big, you need to have mentors. You can't allow yourself to loose time, money and energy. Mentors are people that will give you the right strategies; they will provide the right information and will inspire you. They will coach you through the process. Choose correctly your experts, your models. Work with them and adopt the same thinking patterns, the same strategies, the same beliefs. If he did it, you can do it too.

Limiting beliefs. Often times we have limiting beliefs about what we want to achieve. For example, you can really want to achieve a goal but at the same time something tells you: It's not for you, you don't deserve that or You can't do it, remember. These thoughts pollute our minds and darken our life. A quick way to stop these damaging thoughts is to use the power to say no! First, represent in your mind the limiting belief and say NO! to it. Now, represent in your mind what you want in its place and say a big YES! You will be amazed how your attitude suddenly changed about the old belief. Can you remember it?

I have just shared with you strategies to overcome the TOP 5 things that prevent people from success. When you apply these recommendations, your life will be enriched. You deserve success because you are special and unique. Everyone of us is. The fact is that we are potential geniuses. But the other fact is that often we refuse to admit it because it pushes us out of our comfort zone and most people don't like that. Get out of your comfort zone; this is the only way to succeed in life.

To Be Fulfilled and Successful in Life Be Happy First

To Be Fulfilled and Successful in Life, Be Happy First
By Keith Renninson

Recently, I decided to devote one month implementing the fundamentals of happiness to see if my life couldnt be more robust, fulfilling and successful.

I went about reviewing many books on philosophy, culture and happiness, which I had read and kept in my library, perusing my original notes, along with personally highlighted sections of the books. Then, I made every effort to live the lifestyle I mapped out for myself each day for the next thirty days. The problem is it worked too well.

Dont get me wrong, Im more than pleased with the outcomeI am happier than ever before, the personal and business goals, which I have set for myself, are coming to fruition; I can feel a new, exciting freedom emerging as self-imposed burdens are lifted from my shoulders more and more each day.

Where the problem lies is, I now see the true power I can generate with happiness, and sadly, how many people around me dont want to be that happy. I know that sounds like a strange statement, but its true.

Many people revel in being down, complaining about this or that and wallowing in the muck with friends who extort the same plights in their lives. They ossify the problem, and it lives with them the rest of their lives.

See where my issue lies? I cant relate anymore, nor do I want to. Now, I either have to find new, happy friends or teach my current ones how to laugh more often and enjoy life.

We all say we are looking for true happiness, solid financial security, exciting relationships, great health and fitness, but how many of us really try to find it and live it? Its easier to be down, mediocre, and postpone indefinitely that which we really want.

This principle applies to love, weight loss, writing a book, learning the piano, and being happy. The important things in life often take tremendous personal courage, much effort, a sense of sacrifice and a deep well of patience, if you don't pay attention to how happy you are to begin with. You see, the happier you are on a daily basis, the easier all of this gets.

When you dont have to take responsibility for anything, and can get away with complaining about it anyway, human nature will lead you down the path of least resistance to more and more sadness. Youve got to turn this around and see happiness as the default feeling, not unhappiness.

Simply put, if you work at eliminating any thought of those things in life you are trying to avoid, and focus of the things you do want with happiness, passion and desire, you will attract what you want.

The principle of magnetizing or visualizing what you want into your life is not new, as I found out through my study, many authors and philosophers have written about the power of happiness down through the ages. Applying our energies and focusing on our desires until we obtain them is called deliberate creation; Im living proof that it does work. I am happier and more grounded in my life than ever before, and you can be too.

When you think about it, happiness is our natural state. It is through self-inflicted guilt, envy, a sense of lack, focusing on what we dont want and a feeling of unworthiness that we backslide into perpetual unhappiness. The funny thing is we do this to ourselves!

Above I made the statement that we should think about things we want with passion, desire and intent. When you examine the lives of happy, successful people you come to realize they live with a high level of passion for what ever makes them happy, a deep desire to achieve it, and a powerful intent to fulfill the goal. It is easy to spot those who use this technique: Tiger Woods, Michael Jordan, Lance Armstrong, Rudy Guiliani, and Colin Powell are the most notable of the current generation. They all exemplify a positive attitude, and incorporate a high degree of happiness in their personal and professional lives.

.Map out a similar course for yourself.

Concentrate on being happy.

Focus on what you truly want in life.

Eliminate thoughts of what you dont want.

Be passionate about your goal.

Live in the present with intent.

Be patient with yourself.

Start by examining how much time you spend being unhappy or feeling mediocre. If its more than you had realized before, set about a plan to change it because you do have the power to do so. Smile more, play music, spend time with upbeat friends, watch comedies, read funny stories, intend to be happy in all aspects of your life, become one with your happiness and humor.

Then, write your own personal strategy for joy in your life with all of the aspects you want to live with from now on. Writing down your goals often gives them more meaning and power. Post them on your refrigerator or next to your computer so you can review them daily and revise what isnt working until you have a recipe for happiness and fulfillment.

We all are more powerful than we give ourselves permission to be, you can accomplish whatever you want, if you are happy, and put your mind to it with the intent to be successful.

In the end, it's one man's opinion...mine.

3 Keys To Success

3 Keys To Success
By Leelo-Dianne Bush, PhD

Back in 1978, when I was a junior in college, I was captain of Ohio State Universitys dance drill team. That year the football team won second place in the Big 10 Conference and earned a trip to the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans.

The marching band, cheerleaders and drill team were invited to go as well. However the drill team members each had to raise their own funds to make the trip. My family could not afford to send me yet as the team captain, I felt a strong obligation to be there. More than that, I wanted to go so I had to come up with a creative way to raise the funds. My team co-captain faced a similar dilemma so we decided to join in this effort.

The first thing that came to me was finding sponsors. I considered who I thought might be willing to help and worked to make appointments. I didnt have much luck until one day I got a call back from the office of philanthropist and mega-successful entrepreneur and developer, John Galbraith. His secretary told me he was willing to meet with us.

John was a kindly, older gentleman who loved youth and I found, often donated to the OSU Development Fund. He seemed to like us but before he would help, he wanted to get to know us better. So we set up weekly meetings. Sometimes we would meet at his office and sometimes we would meet for lunch at the exclusive Athletic Club. Once he invited us to his 49,000-acre estate for a tour and to meet former President Gerald Ford before his jet took off from Johns private airport. For Christmas, I made him a special batch of homemade cookies and he gave both me and my co-captain, a thousand dollars for our trips and intricate, solid gold bracelets he had flown in from his Hong Kong office.

These are all great memories, but the best thing John Galbraith gave me were 3 KEYS TO SUCCESS. John had begun to make his fortune during the Great Depression and personified each of these:

1 SINGLENESS OF PURPOSE do one thing at a time and do it to the very best of your ability.2 - TENACITY - keep at it relentlessly, even if you despair. And IF you despair, work on in despair.3 LOVE OTHERS - really love people and treat them as you would like to be treated.

I was blessed to have known John Galbraith and I hope his words inspire you to your own success.

The Key to Success

The Key to Success
By Mary Anne Fields

I was recently asked by a client what is the most important 'key' to success? Unfortunately, there is no one key to success (or most anything else, for that matter). If I had to choose, I'd narrow it down to these few: clarity, congruency, focus and action, probably in that order.

Clarity is the same as self-awareness or insight. It means that you know who you are and what you want at a deeper than surface level. The deeper the clarity, the better. If you truly know yourself, you'll have reasonable expectations of yourself, acceptance of who you are and are not, and knowledge of your own strengths and challenges. You may know who you really are, but not live it. That is where congruency comes in.

Congruency is based on having some level of self- awareness. It is the alignment of who you really are with the way you behave and interact with the world. It can also be called authenticity. If you are truly congruent, it shows up in your career and relationship choices. They will match who you really are, not necessarily who you think you should be or you wish you were. Congruency is where your day to day choices line up with your clarity. Even if you know who you are and you know what you should be doing, you may not do it because of the millions of distractions and pressures we face every day. That's where focus comes in.

Focus is paying attention; concentrating on staying in alignment, furthering your clarity and congruency by making conscious choices. It means slowing down your life so that you can focus. Studies have shown that, in fact, humans are unable to do two things at once. If it seems that they do, it is because of the incredibly elastic human brain, able to stop doing one thing and do another in extremely short intervals of time. However, doing this is actually less efficient that doing one thing at a time, because of the additional time your brain takes to switch tasks. So focusing on who you are, what you want and how to get it are very important to your success. However, they are not sufficient without action.

Action is what you do to make things happen. Action builds momentum and moves you forward. It is one of the ways you express your energy and desires in the world. Action can include anything from thinking, to working, to creating, to resting, well, you get the idea. When you apply clarity, congruency and focus to action, I call it informed action. Your actions are informed by who you are, what you want, your purpose or place in the world, what you think and feel, how you express yourself, what you concentrate on, etc.

When these four ingredients are all in play, you can't help but be successful. Understanding and knowing yourself, living consciously according to that knowledge, focusing on what really matters to you, and taking deliberate action will propel you forward to achieve more than you ever thought possible. And a wonderful by-product of all this is you will be happier.

Coaching Comments: If success and happiness are your goals, choose one of the key areas above to think about. How does the key concept apply in your life? For example, how congruent is your life with who you really are? Can you identify areas that are out of alignment? Areas that don't seem to match the real you? Does your career or work mirror your life's purpose(s) or sense of self? Does it give you energy or drain you? What do your relationships say about you and your life? Would you choose the same relationships if you had it to do all over again? Going through this hinking process adds to your self-awareness. And answering honestly may lead you to better congruency and actions.

What Will I Learn when I Join Success University?

What Will I Learn when I Join Success University?
By Liane Bate

When you join Success University, you are getting into a business and an education for the long-term. It is not a 5-day e-course, and it is not a 30-day program leading you to wealth and riches. When you enroll in any post-secondary institution, you know that it will take some time, energy, commitment, learning, examinations, grades, and eventually graduation. Success University is really no different from todays e-learning opportunities that are popping up in most post-secondary institutions as an option for learning and getting a degree from the comfort of your own home. The difference is that Success University is also a booming business, and allows you to earn as you learn. This discussion will focus on the courses you can take at Success University, and how they will help you become a business and personal success if you make a commitment to learn over the long-term.

When you enroll in Success University, you are paying a monthly tuition of $49.95. So what do you get in return for shelling out your hard-earned dollars? You can take a variety of courses that are either achievement or elective courses. The achievement courses usually give you one lesson per day, up to about 20 lessons, while the elective courses are usually audio and/or video presentations that last roughly up to one hour. Each course, when completed, will give you a certain number of credits. Half of the credits earned must be from the achievement courses. Once you have accumulated a certain number of credits, you advance to the next ranking. For example, you start as a student, but after 75 points, you advance to scholar. After you have completed each course, there is a multiple choice/true-false exam. You must achieve a score of 80% to pass the course. If you dont score 80%, you can take the test over again. You also get a certificate of achievement that you can print out afterwards!

Success University, as the name suggests, teaches you how to be a personal and professional leader in business, sales, network marketing, and personal development. The achievement and elective courses that you can select are focused on just that. I have currently completed 13 Success University courses that have helped me begin to build a solid knowledge base for this business. The courses I have taken include topics like how to double your sales this year, the secrets of a superstar salesman, how to communicate effectively, network marketing skills, attracting success, prospecting, time management, pay-per-click advertising, and increasing your website traffic. What I have learned from these courses will definitely help me build my business, and makes the $49.95/month tuition worth it. Remember that when you join this business, you are not just in it for the money. You join because you want to learn how to be successful in business and in your personal life, so you are not putting dollars in and getting nothing back.

Not only do you learn from the available courses at Success University, but when you join, you get free bonus materials worth hundreds, even thousands of dollars, such as informative CDs on building your network marketing business and selling strategies you can use. There are motivational CDs on how to excel and what you can do to stay healthy and wealthy. You get a training pack on how to deal with prospects, and understanding the compensation plan. You have access to the Success University website back office, which provides additional bonuses, resources, banners, ebooks, and training that will help get you going with your business. There is a bookstore, a document library with all the forms you need, a help-desk, frequently asked questions, brochures, business cards, account management, lead manager, boot camp training. The learning and resources never end! There is even a new Success University forum for support and first-steps training to get your advertising off the ground.

As you can see, what you learn from Success University if you take advantage of whats there for you far exceeds the $49.95/month tuition cost. I have enjoyed the courses and learned a lot from most of them. Some of the shorter courses could be longer and more detailed, but all-in-all, I feel that I am getting something spectacular for my money, and I feel that I am on my way to success! You can be too!

The One Word That Makes The Difference Between Success And Failure!

The One Word That Makes The Difference Between Success And Failure!
By Santhanam Nagarajan

The difference between Success and Failure is determined by just one MAGIC WORD!

Yes, just by one word!

What is that?

Walter Chrysler, when asked to give the secret of success, listed the various qualities, such as ability, capacity, energy, but added that the real secret was enthusiasm.

Yes, more than enthusiasm, said Chrysler, I would say excitement, I like to see men get excited.

In the great epic Ramayana, Maharishi Valmiki is giving an interesting picture.

When Hanuman, the monkey God was not able to trace out the location of Sita,He was very much distressed.

He lamented, How could I meet my colleagues at the other end of the ocean without finding out Sita!

As He is the embodiment of Success, He immediately found out the required quality and uttered two verses (12th chapter verses 10 and 11).

In Sundara Kandam, the best part of Ramayana, He says, Enthusiasm is the cause for getting wealth; enthusiasm is the greatest comfort; Enthusiasm makes one to do his best always, in all matters. Enthusiasm makes human effort fruitful. Hence I am going to do my best induced by enthusiasm.Needless to say, Hanuman found Sita in Asokavanam. This is the turning point in the great epic. Rama went to Lanka and killed Ravana.Norman Vincent Peale has written a book titled, Enthusiasm Makes the Difference.

He points out that

1) Enthusiasm never runs down
2) Enthusiasm cancels fear and worry
3) Enthusiasm reduces stress and tension
4) Enthusiasm works miracles in problems
5) Enthusiasm is a powerful motivation which makes things happen
6) Enthusiasm builds power under your difficulties
7) Enthusiasm makes the difference- it leads everybody from failure to success.

The word enthusiasm from the Greek entheos means God in you or full of God. In other words enthusiasm is a Godly Quality.

Emerson wrote: Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.God helps to those who work with great enthusiasm. So instead of blaming others or the environment, we have to work hard enthusiastically aiming at our goal.

This one word will definitely take us to success from failure!

Trump Stewart Gates Not Immune To Success Advice

Trump, Stewart, Gates - Not Immune To Success Advice
By John Mc Kee

Trump, Stewart, Gates, Schwarzeneggerjust some of the names that evoke images of great success, wealth, and power. Even with the collective successes realized - and billions garnered - by these, among our nations leading business people, its never too late to receive sound business advice. This according to seasoned business success coach John McKee, who notes, There are always areas for improvement in business, even for those at the very top who seemingly possess the secret formula for achievement.

With this in mind, McKee dares to offer this advice to 4 of the nations foremost [and some notorious business minds, many of whom are well entrenched in Forbes Magazines 2004 list of The Worlds Richest People:

1) Donald Trump Donald, its time to give back to the country that made you what you are today. An executive in your position is capable of doing a great deal to help America better compete on a global level, but we hear nothing to indicate your concern or commitment to our nations future success on the whole. With your television success, popularity and pop culture relevance, you should leverage your powerful name, your publicity prowess, and, perhaps, a portion of your seemingly endless discretionary income to help ensure Americas standing in the global economy remains that of a leader. In short, I advise that you leverage your notoriety to a more altruistic and patriotic end. In doing so, your ROI will be in the way of goodwill toward [the American man.

2) Martha Stewart Martha, its clear that you have had a tremendous impact on women in business, and its imperative that you do not squander this opportunity to reinvent yourself in the eyes of the public now that legal matters are almost behind you. Given that only about 3% of CEOs at top U.S.-based businesses are women, I recommend that you get more formally involved in professional organizations that facilitate the success of women in business, so that you can impart your extensive expertise, know-how and business savvy to women who aspire to succeed in the corporate world as you have done. In doing so, you will endear Americas working women to you who would join the throngs of domestic goddesses who already sing your praises and have stood by you through thick and thin.

3) Arnold Schwarzenegger Arnold, its no secret that thus far in your gubernatorial career youve yet to rectify Californias many budgetary and other financial shortcomings. You said you would change how government was run in the Golden State, but so far theres not much change to hang your hat on. I suggest you cease calling other politicians names like girly men, and instead focus on narrowing the partisan chasm, and on improving Californias social services, education, or infrastructure. Yes, its a tough job, but you knew that upon running for this integral office. Great managers take chances. They also establish trust by leading from example. Dont miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to show leadership capabilities that match or, better yet, exceed, your ambition.

4) Bill Gates Bill, it seems you dont recognize that the same market conditions and technology shifts that made Microsoft the worlds foremost software company and, with it, you a billionaire many times over may very well be your companys downfall. Regardless of how big or strong an enterprise is, if it fails to appropriately recognize and respond to market demands, it will stumble and, ultimately, fail completely. The best leaders - in any field - never stop listening to their customers, their employees or their competitors, and you should heed this mission critical fact. Otherwise those who provide alternatives to Microsoft solutions may persevere in the long run.

What's Your Excuse for Not Being Successful in Life?

What's Your Excuse for Not Being Successful in Life?
By David Neese

Excuses! Excuses! When we fail to do something we are expected to do, we almost always have an excuse for it. However, if we analyze it closely, an excuse is a self-destructive alibi for having failed to do something, especially when it involves attaining a goal. Instead of trying to persevere in finding ways to continue achieving a goal, some of us resort to excuses.

Even a handicap cannot be used as an excuse. Many handicapped but determined people have become achievers and champions. Instead of using a handicap as an excuse, let us turn it into an asset. Let us explore this further.

A handicap need not be a reason for failure. On the contrary, a handicap can be a reason for success. People with a handicap always have an offsetting strength that allows them to overcome problems better than others.

A person with a handicap has one obsession - to lead a normal life. Depending on the handicap, a person would prefer to be as independent as possible. So he struggles and finds ways to overcome his impediment. When he is able to achieve his goal, this raises his self-esteem. In turn, he inspires others.

Everybody has handicaps in varying forms and degree. That is why; it requires effort and determination to overcome them. Handicaps can either be physical, financial, or emotional. And they can either be real or imagined.

Whenever we look at a handicap, we almost always look on the negative side only. Its about time we take a look at the positive side of it. The positive side may be the difficult side, but its the one worth looking into. Its the side that is going to lead us to excel in life.

If you think your handicap is physical, like having a weak body, you can counteract this through proper diet and training exercises. As long as the physical parts of your body are intact and mobile, theres no reason why you cannot make it strong and useful. Why? Even those without a leg (for example) can be made to walk or run normally. With the advancement of science, artificial legs can help a handicap function with great mobility.

It your handicap is financial, then the more reason you have to rise above your present status. And if your financial status limits your educational attainment to improve your life, the school is not the only place to learn. Certainly, there are help centers to get you started even from zero level. Once you are initially warmed up with the basics of an education, the rest is up to you. Make use of libraries. Once you are educationally equipped, use your brain and come up with creative ideas to improve your life.

If you are emotionally disturbed with negative thoughts, it is like you are sitting on a chair with wobbling legs. Try sitting on a chair with sturdy legs; meaning, look at the bright, positive side of life. Put aside negativity and start thinking positively. The only one who can stop you is yourself.

If your handicap is a combination of any of the physical, financial, or emotional type, congratulations. You should strive more to overcome them, because a double layer of perseverance results to more than double the achievement. Where the odds are greater, the prize gets much bigger. After all the efforts you have exerted, the prize of success shall be a well-deserved one.

So whats your excuse for not being successful?

White Sun Success & Failure

White Sun - Success & Failure
By Teow Aun Chew

If there are fifty students in a class, only one out of the fifty can be the first position. Did the teacher give him that honor? On what condition that he is given that position? Obviously it has nothing to do with his teachers personal preference. The student who is placed at the bottom of the class should not argue with the teachers decision, but should reflect upon the quality of his own performance.

Life does not begin in the delivery room, nor does it end in the funeral parlor. It exists long before birth, and death does not bring it to an end. Death is the beginning of another birth and life and death are a continuation of one another. The past goes back beyond memory and the present is the continuation of previous lifetimes. The future arrives with the passing of the present and they are boundless. The Buddhist text says:

To understand the causes of our present circumstances, look to previous lives. Our actions in past lives cause our present situation to manifest. To know the future, look at what we are doing in the present. The future will arise as a consequence of these actions.

Whether we succeed or fail in life, it can be from our ignorance and foolishness. There is a joke about a person who died and was called before God to answer for the way he had led his life. God was very angry and said:

You have spent your whole life drifting around, wasting your time in meaningless pursuits, and you have been guilty of countless wrongs. Tell me, why dont you believe in God and obey the order?

The man shrugged his shoulders, faced God and said:

You tell me. Why was I born into a family that doesnt believe in God? I went through my whole life never heard of the word God. How can you expect me to believe in God when I never had the chance to even know that there is God? It is not my fault for not believing in you, it is you who made the first mistake at my birth!

It is indeed a fine joke and it can be true that people living in the deep jungle out of civilization have never met the messenger of God to tell them about God. If people have not been told about Jesus will not know about Jesus likewise Buddha or any spiritual teachers. What is important to us is to understand its deeper meaning. The joke highlights a common human ignorance and the tendency to blame our failures on environmental effects and influences, and give ourselves credit for our efforts and abilities when we succeed.

The power of Heaven is lesser than the power of karma (cause and effect), and the power of the karma is lesser than the power of repentance. Seek no excuses for your failures, but search for the way to success. If someone wishes to die by taking along many others along, God cannot stop him. Prayers cannot stop someone from dying or to be executed or beheaded. If prayer can help to stop the sin then nobody will die and everybody will be rich because everyone prays for wealth and good health. This is the truth and success or failure lies in our hands. Whatever we encounter is due to our own actions. We can blame neither Heaven nor other people.

Have you ever wondered why we look the way we do? Have you ever asked yourself, Why was I born into this family? or Why is it that I have this way of thinking and these attitudes? Why do certain events happen? Are all these things predestined by Heaven? Indeed they are but what criteria does Heaven use as a guide for arranging billions of our fate? This is indeed a mystery of life that sees all kinds of human from the very fortunate to the very unfortunate. Success or failure depends a lot on our fate. We can work from early morning till late into the night, there is no guarantee of success. The world is round, when we think we are ahead, we can actually be behind.

Our fate is like a school report, the result of our past actions. Heaven is fair, only human is not fair. Heaven is absolutely impartial in its arrangement of our fate in accordance with our actions. Heaven is also known as Tian Gong in Chinese. Tian means Heaven and Gong means fair or just. All sentient beings are the successors to their own past deeds. Whether the taste of our life is sweet and sour or bitter and hot is all a consequence of our own actions and intentions.

However, this is not a simple theory of cause and effect. There is a profound truth hidden within it. To harvest sweet and juicy fruit, we will have to sow the appropriate seeds. Without previous hard work in cultivation, how can we expect to enjoy an abundant harvest now? To plant a negative cause and yet expect a yield of good fruit is unrealistic. To follow blindly without understanding the essence of truth is to place our reliance solely on luck or some notion of good fortune. If we know that our thoughts deviate from the truth and still act on them and expect a positive outcome, it is unreasonable. Trying our luck with no knowledge of the underlying reasons is like a blind man riding a horse. There is no sense of direction and no knowledge of where to go.

We must not let anger, hatred or blame enter our hearts, or hold grudges against others. A person who falls on the ground uses the ground as a support to stand up. Do not blame the ground for our falls. Blame ourselves and if we point our finger at others, remember that three other fingers are pointing back at us. If we respond positively to every good or bad situation then every situation becomes a stepping stone to success. Accept our present conditions to resolve past karma so that there will be no new karmic seedlings.

Author: T.A Chew

T.A Chew realized that in order to be happy, we have to accept and live with the sufferings of life. Do not compare with others and do not compete with others. Do not hinder ourselves and feel the tragedies of mankind. Give joyousness whenever required and show mercy in return we shall receive mercy. Success or failure, blame no one. The NonConscious Mind at Work. Harness it for Your Success

The Non-Conscious Mind at Work. Harness it for Your Success
By Andrew Abernathy

Thoughts are real things. As soon as you realize how to control your thoughts you are on your way to making vast changes in your daily success.

This month I am going to follow up on the article from last month, as I promised I would. Last month you may remember I made a statement that may have taken some of you by surprise. I told you that recent studies have shown our brains have no less than six levels of activity and five of those work all the time. Even when we sleep or are in a stupor from too much from the night before. By the way the alcohol that makes our senses dull works on our brains to prevent electrical signals to travel through it and cause all our mental activity to slow down. No wonder you get blurry vision, strange animals, slowed response time and strange verbal responses after a bit of alcohol in the body.

An no wonder you have a headache later. The brain is just trying to get the chemicals back in balance. All this to say the chemicals inside your brain make it work. Recently you may have seen articles in the news magazines or your newspaper about a discovery related to memory and recognition. It seems diet has a direct impact on our mental activity. As we get older we get a waxy substance that builds up on the brain connections. These act as insulators to prevent the electrical signals in our brains from being transmitted. This energy is the activity of our mental process and creates the memories we have as well as the reactions we need to cause our bodies to work.

For us this translates into the ability to remember what makes us feel good, or even where we left the keys this last night. Our brains get dull and listless when we don't exercise them and as we get older. To some degree we can defeat this by actively associating something with our actions. Preferably tie the memory to an image that is familiar. I do this by always placing my car keys in a basket on my dressing table. When I see my keys drop in the basket I make the association graphic, rather than just throwing them anywhere without thinking about it. Try it. You will be surprised how this simple exercise demonstrates the powers of associative organization. In one way or another all the memory gurus use this principle to teach you how to remember about anything.

Let's move on. We want to remember things that cause us to remain motivated. The important idea here is we have to retrain our thoughts to become focused on what we want to accomplish. To do this we have to raise whatever it is we want to accomplish to a point in our consciousness that we begin to see ideas and things around us that directly, or indirectly relate to what we want to be important to us. If we have been allowing ourselves to think we can't be successful at anything we do, then after a while we will really believe this.

Fortunately for all of us, we can change this pattern. Now what I am going to tell you next is simple to say, but not so simple to do so I'm going to give you a simple word to remember - P I N T.

Put It iN Thought. In other words, put your dreams in your thoughts all the time.

Drive out anything else. People you see around you who succeed are doing this all the time. They are single minded in their existence. They put what they want in their thoughts all the time. Anything that is not required to get the job done is discarded immediately. They will even bend their perceptions of things around them to being related or contributing to that they want to happen. They Put It iN Thought.

This may take a while. You have been letting everyone elses thoughts be suggested as your own for quite some time time. Changing your habits will take some time. Your thought patterns won't change over night. I will give you one hint. Recent research by Larry Kahil, MD at the University of California Medical Center found that emotion makes the strength of our memories much stronger. We have a tendency to be reinforced positively with good emotions.

Remember the kiss that really got to you the first time. I'll bet you still remember where you were and who you were kissing! So, do something or remember something that makes you feel good emotionally as you think of your goal. The more you think about your goal, the more your good feeling will happen. You will get hooked on the good feeling and on your goal. Everything you do will begin to focus on that goal because you want to feel good.

OK, you have the core of one of the most powerful life changing concepts you will ever learn. Just remember Put It iN Thought.

Let's Get Started!

Success Character is Higher Than Intellect Empower Yourself With This Realization

Success - Character is Higher Than Intellect - Empower Yourself With This Realization
By Marie Gervacio

We all know how easy it is to follow the majority, to do as everyone else seems to be doing, to do only that which is considered average. It takes a strong individual to live a life based on his or her own ideals. Such a person shows strength simply in ability to remain on a chosen path regardless of the inevitable counter forces.

It is the fear of these counter forces that keeps most of us away from our natural desire to learn in order to fulfill our desire for acceptance. It is the fear of these counter forces that threatens us to inaction rather than face failure.

Although we tend to restrict ourselves, we admire those who have the tenacity to face up to these forces in order to live the way they choose. To those who have used their mind to perceive and understand the unknown we recognize their intellect. To those who go the extra step of being a living example of their beliefs we recognize their character.

We offer our highest admiration to those who act, those who demonstrate character. We recognize that it is not only amazing to have reasoning power and knowledge, it is incredible to veer from the norm and act in a way as to be a living example of ones beliefs. Through our admiration we realize that character is higher than intellect.

Now, it would seem that rather than placing these people on a pedestal , it would be better to let them serve as models for us. Rather than merely admiring their daring we could stand to benefit from their example, the example of action.

Such an example was given to us by Thomas Edison and his Insomnia Team who were named as such because of their long hours. He chose to spend most of his waking hours with these men, who were just as dedicated as he, working endlessly on a given belief.

Edison also made a point to clearly demonstrate his determination through an open door policy with the media. Though he was mainly doing this in an attempt to secure financial backing it gave the rest of the world a clear picture of this mans character.

Edison and the Insomnia Team showed their persistence and determination often throughout the years. One of the inventions that called heavily on these qualities was the light bulb. Edison and his Insomnia Team could have given up after a couple attempts, yet even after a couple hundred attempts; however, they continued on even into thousands of attempts.

Edison could not be discouraged; rationalizing that since they had only found thousands of ways it could not be done, he could only be closer to the right answer. Edison and the Insomnia Team above intelligence showed character. Their determination pushed aside the counter forces and their diligence was rewarded after over three thousand attempts.

Determination such as this should be ours since it is the very substance that promotes action. This, of course, is easier said than done. Recognizing that action is spurred by determination may be a key to a new way of living.

If we believe in something, the beliefs of others, particularly those who speak of impossibilities should be ignored. Since we all are able to rationalize that error is part of human nature we should not be afraid of it, rather we should look at it more like Edison who saw it as a stepping stone bringing him closer to his goal.

In realizing that character is higher that intellect we should not only admire it in others we should strive to make it our own.

This empowering thought is fuel to drive us to success. We have the power to be the best we can be by acting on our dreams. We can learn what we need along the way.
